Dr. Matt Ludwig

Dr. Matt Ludwig is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Classics at MUN where he lectures on ancient Greek history, society, language and literature, as well as the reception of ancient Greece and Rome in pop culture. He holds a PhD in Classics from the University of Toronto where he wrote a dissertation on Sophoclean tragedy and held a previous limited-term position as an Assistant Professor.

Research Interests:
Greek tragedy, ancient literary criticism, classics in reception, the theory and politics of translation, pedagogy, the Graeco-Roman poetic tradition
