Capture the vibrancy of the Games through research.

Memorial is recognized for its rich record of engagement with community partners and research collaborators, in Newfoundland and Labrador and around the world. Let the Games guide you to another personal best in your contribution to society.

The school of human kinetics and recreation is currently exploring research topics in Safe Sport, women in sport leadership, fitness testing in youth and the role of schools in supporting physical activity and sport.

Like teaching and learning opportunities, Canada Games-related research can be conducted in any discipline. Sample research topics from past Games include:

  • "Researching and engaging Canada Games fans with augmented realty"
  • "Municipal collaboration in regional event hosting processes"
  • "Circus on the canal" (linking high-performance athleticism and circus performance)
  • “Sport AI Enabled by Multi-Agent Deep Reinforcement Learning Approaches.”
  • "Painted turtles" (links to ecological activism)
