About Canada Games

Canada Games is the largest multi-sport event in the country. The Games will bring together over 4,000 athletes from 700 communities across Canada to compete in 19 different sports in five municipalities of Newfoundland and Labrador. 

Held every two years and alternating between summer and winter sports, the Games showcases the very best in amateur youth sport. The Games are a truly inclusive event with able-bodied athletes and athletes with physical and intellectual disabilities competing in the same Games environment.

St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador is proud to host the 2025 Canada Games. St. John’s last hosted in 1977.

Canada Games Oversight

The Canada Games Council provides leadership and support for each Games, while each host community has its own Canada Games Host Society - a group of dedicated staff and volunteers who bring the Games to life. Led by board Co-Chairs Kim Keating and Karl Smith, your 2025 Canada Games Host Society is excited to welcome the nation to St. John’s, N.L. in 2025.
