Volunteer Incentive Program Requirements

Bronze

• Complete in one academic semester
• Complete 20 hours of volunteer service
• Participate in one personal/professional/leadership development seminar/training/workshop
• Write a brief commentary on a reflective essay submitted by a Silver Level Participant (the participant may find this essay on the main VIP page on our website)

Silver

• Complete in one academic semester
• Complete 40 hours of volunteer service
• Participate in two personal/professional/leadership development seminars/trainings/workshops
• Write and submit a reflective essay summarizing and describing your volunteer experience

Gold

• Complete in two consecutive academic semesters
• Complete 80 hours of volunteer service
• Participate in at least one Student Leadership Program offered through Memorial University of Newfoundland
• Participate in at least one four hour or three one hour personal/professional/leadership development seminar/training/workshop
• Participate in a group reflection session with other Gold Level participants (organized by VIP Coordinator).
• Submit two letters of recommendation from agencies or organizations with whom the participant has volunteered through the program. The recommendations should comment on the participant's suitability for a Gold Level award based on their demonstration of high levels of; self-awareness, career awareness, self-discipline, determination, community involvement, leadership ability and social responsibility
