Community Service Learning Day Fall 2011 marked the first time Memorial University partnered with StreetReach as a venue for MUN students to get involved with the community. Those students who volunteered spent the beautiful October day at the Gower Street United Church in downtown St. John's getting to know new people, participating in service learning and reflection surrounding social issues in our community, and helping out with the duties of the day.

Overall students, faculty and staff took part in:

  • Preparing personal care kits and a hot, fresh lunch to enjoy with Community members and Street Reach clients
  • Preparing soup for upcoming and ongoing Street Reach events and drop-in activities
  • Helping build a stronger community feeling and bond through gathering together and creating more community spirit
