Dr. Leslie Harris Memorial University Alumni Association Scholarship

Memorial University and its Alumni Association have established these scholarships to honor former University President, Dr. Leslie Harris, and to recognize excellence of our students. Several scholarships, valued at a minimum of $16,000 ($4,000 annually for up to 4 years) will be awarded annually and may be renewed if first class and scholarship standing are maintained. These scholarships are tenable in all undergraduate programs at the University and will be awarded by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships and Financial Aid.

I am grateful to be a recipient of the Dr. Leslie Harris scholarship. I am currently enrolled in Engineering at Memorial, with hopes of a career in environmental sustainability and conservation. This scholarship has allowed me to focus on my studies and participate in varsity Cross-Country running.


Jenna Diamond

I am honoured to be one of the recipients receiving this prestigious scholarship. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with hopes to become a nurse practitioner one day. This scholarship will help me reach my goals for the future.


Chloe Griffiths

I am extremely honoured to have been chosen as a recipient of the Dr. Leslie Harris Alumni Scholarship. I am working towards a bachelor of science degree, hoping to major in biology. I plan to pursue a career in dentistry after graduation. This scholarship allows me to focus on my studies and achieve my goals in university.

I am extremely grateful for being given this award. I am currently working towards a Bachelor of Science degree, with the intention of majoring in Chemistry or biochemistry as I am still undecided, but I am also applying to the Doctor of Pharmacy program, as well.


Kaitlyn Grandy

It is an honor to be a recipient of the Dr. Leslie Harris Alumni scholarship. I am working to enter the Behavioural Neuroscience Program with hopes of continuing my education in medical school. This scholarship provides great financial aid and is an excellent motivator for my studies and community involvement.

I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science, but have not yet chosen a major/minor. I hope to go to Memorial University’s School of Medicine in the future, and this scholarship has provided me with the help and confidence to start my journey.
