SUBJECT: First students enter Memorial University's exclusive oil and gas executive program
DATE: Jan. 6
Note to editors:
Media agencies are invited to send representatives to a reception to mark the start of Memorial's innovative master's in oil and gas studies program. The reception will be held on Jan. 12, 2004, from 7-9 p.m. in the Junior Common Room, R. Gushue Hall, located on Memorial's St. John's campus. Faculty, students and industry representatives will be in attendance and will be available for interviews.
The master's in oil and gas program is a unique executive development program specifically designed for senior level employees who are destined for the executive positions in the oil and gas industry, its service sector or relevant government agencies and departments.
The program provides a thorough understanding of the critical issues of the entire oil and gas industry. It is a modular program, spanning one year and combining short, intense on-campus learning with Internet-based learning. Participants in this initial group have arrived from different parts of the globe and have a variety of backgrounds. The four participants in the initial class include a reservoir engineer from China, and three local participants, two of whom are facilities engineers and one is a tanker captain.
