SUBJECT: Memorial co-hosts seminar focused on traditional dance

DATE: Feb. 6

The future of dance traditions in Newfoundland and Labrador will be the focus of a special workshop for dance enthusiasts being held on Saturday, Feb. 21, in St. John’s.
Memorial’s Research Centre for the Study of Music, Media and Place, along with the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador, and Neighbourhood Dance Works is co-hosting a Dance Heritage Think Tank.
The event will be an introductory platform for members of the dance community to consider various dance heritages and identify what that means.
The Dance Heritage Think Tank takes place from 1-4 p.m., in the Music, Media and Place Gallery, which is located in the northeast corner of the Arts and Culture Centre.
Parking is available in the Arts and Culture Parking Lot.
For more information, contact Kristin Harris Walsh, project co-ordinator, Research Centre for the Study of Music, Media and Place, at 737-2051; or Dale Jarvis, intangible cultural heritage development officer, Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador, at 739-1892.
