Note to editors:
Media agencies are invited to send representatives to the Rant like Rick finals, taking place on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 12-2 p.m., on Memorial University’s St. John’s campus.
The event is one of the highlights taking place this week during I Love MUNdays 2007, the university’s annual fall celebrations.
Eleven Memorial students – 10 from the St. John’s campus and one from Sir Wilfred Grenfell College in Corner Brook – will compete live for $1,000, $750 and $500, respectively.
They’ll present live rants on a topic of their own choice at the finals, which take place in room UC-3017 on the third floor of the Smallwood Centre (University Centre).
Earlier this month, students auditioned for the contest with 11 making the finals. The videos for the finalists are available online at www.mun.ca/mundays/rant/ and voting is now underway for the favourite rant. MUNdays is Memorial University’s annual fall celebrations, which take place until Saturday, Oct. 27. On the St. John’s campus events roll out under the banner of I Love MUNdays, while at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College in Corner Brook celebrations are called I Fell for Grenfell.
A full schedule of events in St. John’s is available at www.mun.ca/mundays, while a listing of events for Corner Brook is available at www.swgc.mun.ca/celebrate/.
Media agencies are encouraged to send representatives to other events.
