A Memorial University student group that won the right to represent Canada at a prestigious event in Paris, France this September will present its award-winning projects to members of the media, business community and university officials on Monday, June 19, 2006.
ACE (Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship) Memorial is a student-run youth group that aims to increase entrepreneurial awareness and business skills within the community.
The group took top honours by beating out 43 groups from other universities and colleges from across Canada last month to win the prize at the Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) competition held in Toronto. That event was part of the ACE National Exposition where ACE teams prepared and delivered in-depth presentations on their educational outreach projects.
ACE Memorial won the coveted Frank Stronach Cup for most enterprising campus at the competition and will now compete against national winners from 47 countries around the world in France from Sept. 11-13, 2006.
On Monday, June 19, at 4:30 p.m. ACE Memorial will showcase its award-winning project during a special event in the Inco Innovation Centre, on Memorial’s St. John’s campus.
Media agencies are invited to send representatives to this event.
Free parking is available in lot 17 located between the University Centre and the Inco Innovation Centre.
