SUBJECT: PSA: Mind the Gaps: A wiki edit-a-thon

Memorial University’s Newfoundland Quarterly and the AC Hunter Library are collaborating to host Mind the Gaps, a Wiki edit-a-thon designed to expand the online record of Newfoundland and Labrador’s arts and culture.
On Thursday, Oct. 24, from 4-7 p.m., participants will meet library staff, Colleen Quigley and Bonnie Morgan will present on the topic of archives and collections, and Jenny Higgins will lead everyone in creating and editing a Wikipedia account.
Participants will walk away from the event with the tools to edit Wikipeda on their own.
The Wiki edit-a-thon will be held in the meeting room on the first floor of the children’s library in the AC Hunter Library at 125 Allandale Rd. in St. John’s. Refreshments will be served; free parking is available.
Space is limited. Anyone interested in attending are asked to register in advance by calling (709) 737-3950.
