SUBJECT: PSA: Memorial University hosting 2019 Canada Ocean Lecture Series

DATE: November 7, 2019

Memorial University's vice-president (research) will deliver the 2019 Canada Ocean Lecture Series.

In Dr. Neil Bose’s lecture, On the Edge: Positioned in One of the Richest Ocean Ecosystems on Earth, you will learn how Memorial’s physical location inspires its researchers to lead critical marine and ocean-related research.

The event will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Celestial Gallery at the Johnson Geo Centre, Signal Hill Campus. Admission is free and all are welcome. Limited free parking is available in the Geo Centre parking lot. A small reception will follow.

The lecture is one of more than 30 events scheduled to take place during Memorial’s Research Week, running Nov. 12-18.

Initiated in 2006, the Canada Ocean Lecture Series is a joint initiative between the Shorefast Foundation and the Faculty of Environment at Simon Fraser University and other partners. The aim of the series is to create awareness of Canada’s vast marine environment and its importance to Canadians.
