SUBJECT: Memorial University to present 38th annual Alumni Tribute Awards

Dr. Noreen Golfman, provost and vice-president (academic), Memorial University, will present the 38th annual Alumni Tribute Awards tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 24, at Signal Hill Campus in St. John’s.

The awards are the highest honour bestowed to Memorial alumni who have made exceptional contributions right here at home and around the world.

A reception begins at 6 p.m. and the awards ceremony begins at 7 p.m.

This year’s recipients are as follows:

• Barry Perry, B.Comm.(Hons.)(Co-op.)’86 – Alumnus of the Year
• Dr. Peter Collingwood, B.Med.Sci.’79, MD’81 – J.D. Eaton Award
• Dr. Boluwaji Ogunyemi, Dip. in Clinical Epidemiology’09, MD’13 – Horizon Award
• Susan Rose, BA’82, B.Ed.(High School)’86, B.Sp.Ed.’87 – Outstanding Community Service Award
