SUBJECT: Digital Health Symposium to take place at Signal Hill Campus

Memorial University will host its first Digital Health Symposium on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
 
The one-day symposium for health-care professionals includes several speakers on current digital health trends, as well as applications and programming in Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada to enhance health-care access and quality of care.
 
Keynote speakers include Dr. Rashaad Bhyat, a physician leader in the Access Health e-Services team at Canada Health Infoway and who has a family practice in the Greater Toronto Area, and Dr. Kendall Ho, professor of emergency medicine, at the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Medicine, who practises at the Vancouver General Hospital and is the director of the UBC eHealth Strategy Office.

They will discuss trends and the future and vision of digital health. Local and regional speakers will discuss specific applications, programs and future directions in Newfoundland and Labrador.
 
The event will take place at the conference centre at the Emera Innovation Exchange, Signal Hill Campus, Memorial University.
