SUBJECT: PSA: Faculty of Medicine opening its doors

The Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University will host its first open house as part of the city-wide Doors Open St. John’s event on Sunday, Sept. 24, from 1-4:30 p.m.

This family-friendly event will showcase a number of attractions, including:

  • Dr. Shakti Chandra’s Body Works Exhibit;
  • A teddy bear clinic taking place in the Clinical Learning and Simulation Centre;
  • Research demonstrations;
  • Information booths for public education and community programs;
  • Artwork created by faculty, staff and learners, and;
  • Games and activities for all ages.

Limited parking will be available in lot 30, located next to the Faculty of Medicine building on Clinch Crescent on the St. John’s campus. Parking will also be available on the third floor of the parking garage on Arctic Avenue through the back entrance. A shuttle van will provide transportation to and from the parking garage between 1-5 p.m.

The open house is part of the Faculty of Medicine’s 50th anniversary celebrations. To learn more about other events and activities acknowledging the history of the medical school, visit the website.
