SUBJECT: Fortis Inc. to provide support for upgrades to Angus Bruneau Lecture Theatre in Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science

On Wednesday, Oct. 11, Memorial University and Fortis Inc. will announce funding from Fortis Inc. used to renovate and modernize the Angus Bruneau Engineering Lecture Theatre, the primary lecture theatre in the Engineering building on Memorial University’s St. John’s campus.

The event will also be a tribute to the legacy of the late Dr. Angus Bruneau, the founding dean of Memorial’s Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science and former chairman of the board of directors of Fortis Inc.

Dr. Gary Kachanoski, president and vice-chancellor, Memorial University, and Barry Perry, president and CEO, Fortis Inc., will be on hand with special guests, students, senior university officials, faculty, and representatives from Fortis to mark the occasion.

Parking is available in lot 16A, near the Faculty of Business Administration building on Morrissey Drive. Please note that this does not include metered parking in this area, and vehicles parked in metered spaces will be ticketed.
