SUBJECT: PSA: Three Minute Thesis competition

Memorial University’s School of Graduate Studies is hosting its fourth annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition, as part of the university’s I love MUNdays events, today, Monday, Oct. 17.

The 3MT is a research communication competition developed in 2008 by the University of Queensland (UQ) in Australia. Research students have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance. Prizes will be awarded for first place, runner-up and People’s Choice.

The competition will take place in The Landing in the University Centre (UC-3018) on the St. John’s campus at 1 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

Judges for this year’s competition include Sheilagh O’Leary, photographer/creative producer and St. John's city councillor; Jamie Fitzpatrick, award-winning novelist and freelance broadcaster with CBC Radio; and Paula Dyke, associate director, communications, Marketing & Communications, Memorial University.
