SUBJECT: PSA: Memorial to open Aboriginal Peoples Week with public event on building reconciliation

The second annual Aboriginal Peoples Week at Memorial University’s St. John’s campus will open with a public event on Monday, March 20, from 7-9 p.m. in the Bruneau Centre for Research Innovation.

Dr. Sheila Cote-Meek, associate vice-president, academic and Indigenous programs at Laurentian University, will deliver a keynote address titled, Two Steps Forward, One Step Back: Transforming the Landscape to Support Reconciliation. Chief Mi’sel Joe of the Miawpukek First Nation will address the audience on the topic, Building Reconciliation, which is the theme of the series of events taking place during Aboriginal Peoples Week.

The event is free to attend and open to the public. Complimentary parking will be available in lot 1A.
