SUBJECT: PSA: Body works exhibit returns to Memorial University

DATE: September 28, 2016

Back by popular demand, the Body Works exhibit will be on display this Saturday, Oct. 1.

The Faculty of Medicine will host its Body Works exhibit from 1-5 p.m. in the atrium of the Medical Education Centre, adjacent to the Health Sciences Centre on the east side of Clinch Crescent in St. John’s.

On display will be a magnificent collection of anatomical specimens prepared by Dr. Shakti Chandra, professor emerita, Memorial University.

This is an opportunity to view real bones and organs that have been plastinated. You will see an artificial joint, healthy lungs, a smoker’s lungs, a heart with a coronary bypass, a cirrhotic liver and a normal liver. Whole bodies will also be displayed.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend this free event, meet Dr. Chandra, discover the world of plastination and learn about their own body—inside and out.

Parking will be available in lot 9.
