SUBJECT: Help pick Most Valuable Pitch during Genesis Centre event

Media representatives are invited to attend Pitch and Pick, a unique event hosted by Memorial University’s Genesis Centre, taking place today, Thursday, Sept. 8, from 3-6 p.m., at The Fifth Ticket, 171 Water St., in St. John’s.
Ten local startups with big business ideas will pitch their plans to a panel of industry leaders with the audience helping pick a winner.
The event is part of the centre’s Evolution Program, which is geared toward early stage startups and companies who want to apply to the Genesis Centre.
Cash prizes totalling $1,000 will also be awarded. The event is sponsored by Build Ventures, Atlantic Canada’s largest venture capital fund and a venture capital firm investing in startup technology companies.
