SUBJECT: Memorial University's Business Day celebrates half a century

Memorial University’s commerce class of 2015 will present the 50th annual Memorial University Business Day at the Sheraton Hotel in St. John’s on Friday, March 6, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
The public is invited to A Prism of Possibilities, where attendees will have the opportunity to network with business professionals from Newfoundland and Labrador. As participants come together to celebrate 50 years, current and future business leaders will have the opportunity to share their experiences and ideas.
Brendan Paddick, CEO, Columbus International Inc., will present the keynote address. There will also be a panel comprised of prominent members of the business community, including Anne Whelan, president and CEO, Seafair Capital Inc.; Sean Wiltshire, CEO, Avalon Employment Inc.; Gary Smith, president and CEO, Newfoundland Power Inc., and Ken Bennett, president, Johnson Inc. and Unifund Assurance Company.
Dr. Gary Kachanoski, president and vice-chancellor, Memorial University, and Dr. Wilfred Zerbe, dean, Faculty of Business Administration, will also be in attendance.
Guests will enjoy an interactive experience that aims to highlight the power of collaboration and teamwork. Tickets for the event are $60 per person and $35 for students. Breakfast and refreshments will be provided.
This annual event is the longest running student-run networking event in Canada, serving as a premier networking opportunity for both students and business leaders in the region. The Business Day Committee’s efforts help promote the Faculty of Business Administration while showcasing some of the successful alumni of Memorial University. Business Day’s success is credited to the active participation of the Newfoundland and Labrador business community.
