SUBJECT: PSA: International Women’s Day celebrations at Memorial
DATE: March 8, 2012
International Women’s Day will be marked at Memorial with a festive celebration of the accomplishments of women. Booths to explore, crafts to purchase and free pizza will all be available on the third floor of the University Centre from 12-1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 8.
The craft fair will feature crafts by women from the Multicultural Women's Organization of Newfoundland and Labrador and Aboriginal crafts from the St. John’s Native Friendship Centre. Displays and information at the event will celebrate women in Canada, in particular, Canadian Aboriginal women.
Participants will be able to celebrate a woman in their lives but contributing to an “inspiring women” mural. Free pizza and popcorn will be available.
