SUBJECT: Lineup announced for The Wicked Memorial Variety Show at Mile One Centre

On Saturday, Aug. 11, Memorial University will take havin’ a time: Reunion 2012 off-campus for The Wicked Memorial Variety Show at Mile One Centre.
The show will feature many of Newfoundland and Labrador’s top musical and performance talent, including featured performers Hey Rosetta! and The Wonderful Grand Band, with special performances by Amelia Curran, Barry Canning, Andrew James O’Brien and Jonny Harris. Mark O’Brien, known for his breakout role as Des Courtney on the hit CBC series Republic of Doyle, will be the show’s emcee.
“This show reflects what havin’ a time: Reunion 2012 is all about,” said Reunion 2012 honorary co-chair Valerie Ludlow. “Reconnecting with old friends and colleagues, making new memories, and above all, having a great time.”
The Wicked Memorial Variety Show at Mile One Centre is one of many exciting events planned for havin’ a time: Reunion 2012, the university’s first ever all-year, all-faculty and all-campus reunion. The show will highlight the talent of this province’s people and why Newfoundland and Labrador is so entertaining. Head out to Mile One Centre and spend the night catching up with old friends and colleagues.
“The lineup for this show is first class,” said emcee Mark O’Brien. “The Wicked Memorial Variety Show at Mile One Centre will be a stellar event. Memorial alumni and friends are definitely in for an unforgettable evening.” 
Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday, June 8, at 12 p.m. at the Mile One Centre box office, by phone at (709) 576-7657 and online at www.mileonecentre.com.Tickets are $50 plus tax and applicable surcharges. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
The havin’ a time: Reunion 2012 event is happening from Aug. 8-12 at Memorial University’s St. John’s campus, the Marine Institute and Grenfell Campus. There are more than 70 events planned, including a series of showcase events, edu-tourism adventures, a speaker series, a wide range of activities presented by individual faculty and school groups, family-oriented activities and The Wicked Memorial Variety Show at Mile One Centre.
