SUBJECT: Rising Above: 45th annual Business Day

Members of the media are advised that Rising Above: the 45th annual Business Day Conference will take place on Friday, March 26, 2010, at the Delta Hotel. Each year the graduating class of Memorial University’s Faculty of Business Administration organizes a conference for both students and the business community. The following business leaders are scheduled for presentations:
8–8:30 a.m. – Registration
8:30–9 a.m. - Opening remarks and breakfast service
9–9:30 a.m. – Jim Burton, founder of Team Burton
9:30–10 a.m. – Charlie Oliver, CEO of Martek
10–10:45 a.m. – Zoe Yujnovich, president and CEO of Iron Ore
 Company of Canada
10:45–11:15 a.m. - Nutrition Break
11:15–12 p.m. - Dr. Mark O’Dea, president and CEO of Fronteer Development Group
12-12:45 p.m. - Panel discussion (audience questions)
12:45-1 p.m. - Closing remarks and acknowledgments
 
CBC’s Ryan Snodden is emceeing the event and Justice William Goodridge will be introducing Mark O’Dea. Dr. Wilfred Zerbe, dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, will provide opening remarks and serve as moderator.
Media are invited to attend all or part of the conference. Media outlets will be provided with one complimentary ticket that will cover the cost of breakfast. Additional tickets can be purchased from the Business Day committee. If you are planning to attend the breakfast, RSVP to the Business Day Committee at 737-8519 by March 24.
