SUBJECT: PSA: 2010 Alumni Tribute Awards

DATE: February 22, 2010

Do you know a Memorial grad who embodies the word leadership? Or exceptional? Or successful? Nominate them for the Alumni Tribute Award.
The Office of Alumni Affairs and Development at Memorial University has issued a call for nominations for the 2010 Alumni Tribute Awards.
“We made several changes to the nomination process. This year, technology allows us to make it really easy to nominate an outstanding graduate for an Alumni Tribute Award,” said Lynn Cadigan, assistant director, Alumni Affairs.
Anybody who wants to nominate a Memorial alumni for one of the four awards can do so through the Memorial University website at www.munalum.ca.
“The link on the front page allows you to fill out a simple form and we’ll take it from there,” said Ms. Cadigan.
The nominations can also be made the old-fashioned way. The forms are available at The Office of the Alumni Affairs and development at 20 Lambe’s Lane or by calling toll free at 1-877-700-4081.
“We are encouraging everybody to submit a nomination. Memorial has an amazing alumni body and the Alumni Tribute Awards allow us to recognize their inspirational leadership and invaluable contributions to the university, their community and the world at large,” said Ms. Cadigan.
There are four different award categories. Alumna or Alumnus of the Year Award is the highest honour the association can bestow on a graduate and it recognizes exceptional individual achievements. The Outstanding Community Service Award acknowledges alumni who have given of themselves to improve the lives of people and their communities while the JD Eaton Award recognizes leadership and outstanding contribution to Memorial University. The Horizon Award honours young alumni who have realized extraordinary achievements before the age of 35.
