SUBJECT: New award to recognize Memorial University researchers

Media are invited to send representatives to a special ceremony taking place Wednesday, Oct. 28, to recognize some of Memorial University’s leading and emerging researchers.
The event will include a celebration of the recipients of the 2009 Petro-Canada Young Innovator Awards, as well as the launch of a new prestigious award program.
Dr. Ray Gosine, vice-president (research) pro tempore, together with Gary Vokey, Terra Nova asset manager, Suncor Energy Incorporated, will participate in the event.
Musicians from Memorial’s School of Music will also deliver a short concert series.
The event begins at 7 p.m., in the Petro-Canada Hall, School of Music,
St. John’s campus.
Parking is available in Lot 15.
