SUBJECT: Faculty of Medicine to host 2010 Canadian Conference on Medical Education

Memorial’s Faculty of Medicine is hosting the 2010 Canadian Conference on Medical Education May 1-5.
Entitled White Coats, Warm Hearts: Integrating Science and Humanism, the event will see more than 1,000 delegates from across Canada and around the world take part.
The conference will take place at the St. John’s Convention Centre, the Sheraton Hotel and Delta Hotel.
Plenary sessions will be focused on hot topics in the medical education field such as Raiders of the Lost Ark: Recovering Humanities in Medicine” and “Leadership for the 21st Century: Medicine’s Current Challenge.
A session of great interest to members of Memorial’s Faculty of Medicine will be a workshop based on distributed medical education – where student and instructor are separated by distance and learning takes place via technological teaching tools such as video and the Internet.
It is the first time Memorial’s Faculty of Medicine is hosting the leading edge conference.
