SUBJECT: Eighth annual Ottawa Affinity Dinner

Memorial University alumni and friends of Newfoundland and Labrador will gather for their eighth annual Ottawa Affinity Dinner on Nov. 3. This year’s dinner will take place at the Chateau Laurier with the reception starting at 6 p.m. 
The event is packed with features, including a keynote speech by Ed Martin, president and CEO of the Energy Corporation of Newfoundland and Labrador. The event is emceed by Canada AM co-host and passionate Newfoundlander and Labradorian Seamus O’Regan and in charge of entertainment is stand-up comedian John Sheehan. In addition, representatives of SIFE Memorial will also be in attendance. The group, comprised of students from Memorial , were named best in the world and gold medal winners of the 2008 Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) World Cup which took place in Singapore Oct. 1-3.
Ottawa Affinity Newfoundland and Labrador dinners are one of the must-attend events in the capital. The dinners are an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the province and allow the participants to rekindle old friendships, forge new business relationships and celebrate the best Newfoundland and Labrador has to offer. Proceeds from the Ottawa Affinity Dinner support Memorial University Scholarship Fund.    
The affinity dinners are organized by alumni and friends of Memorial in conjunction with the Office of Alumni Affairs and Development. Those interested in attending can still purchase tickets by calling 1-877-700-4081. The tickets are $125.
