SUBJECT: PSA:Memorial University to host Rant Like Rick Awards Ceremony

Memorial University of Newfoundland will be hosting an awards ceremony to announce the winners of the “Rant Like Rick” contest on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 4 p.m. in the Inco Innovation Centre, room IIC-2001.
Memorial University’s Acting President Dr. Eddy Campbell will present three outstanding winners with “best rant” awards, including best overall. Each winner will receive free tuition for two semesters (currently valued at $2,550). Additional awards will also be presented for best acting, best cinematography, best writing and an honourable mention. The “Rant Like Rick” contest invited senior high school students from across Canada to create a rant in true Rick Mercer style to win free tuition for a year.
All media are invited to attend. Parking is available in Area 18. The ceremony is also open to the general public.
