SUBJECT: PSA: MUN Project Green hosts public forum on the environment

DATE: September 26, 2007

In advance of next month’s provincial election, a special interest group at Memorial University is co-hosting a public forum tonight on the environment.
MUN Project Green is co-ordinating the all-candidates meeting. Participants will be able to ask candidates about their party’s vision for a sustainable Newfoundland and Labrador.
Lori-Ann Campbell-Martino, who is running for the Liberals in St. John’s Centre, and Dave Sullivan, the NDP candidate for Virgina Waters, are the only confirmed candidates for tonight’s forum. The Progressive Conservative Party has declined to send a representative.
Tonight’s forum takes place at 8 p.m. in room EN-2006 of the Engineering Building.
It is being moderated by Ramona Dearing, host of Radio Noon on CBC Radio.
In addition to MUN Project Green, the forum is being organized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Environment Network, the Northeast Avalon Sierra Club and the Protected Areas Association.
Media agencies are invited to send representatives to the forum.
