2007-2008

News Release

REF NO.: 166

SUBJECT: PSA: Memorial University alumni can make a difference

DATE: July 17, 2008

Memorial alumni, Canadian Blood Services needs your help!
Every minute of every day in Canada, someone needs blood to survive. In Newfoundland and Labrador, thousands of people each year receive blood or blood products following accidents, during surgery or for cancer treatments, burn therapy, and other blood-related diseases. The summer months can be a particularly difficult time to collect blood. While blood donations traditionally decrease because people are away on holidays or busy with family activities, the need for blood never takes a vacation. After all, your blood donation is a gift that can be given every 56 days throughout the year to help hospital patients in need.
On Wednesday, July 23, take a break from your summer activities and help save a life by participating in our Alumni Blood Donor Clinics.
