SUBJECT: Memorial University of Newfoundland graduate recipient of special award

            A graduate of Sir Wilfred Grenfell College and a native of Corner Brook is this year’s winner of the 2008 Margaret Williams Trust Fund award, which is valued at $1,500.
            The award was set up in 1982 by the family and friends of the former Memorial University librarian to promote the development of librarianship in Newfoundland and Labrador.
            Lisa Rowsell holds a bachelor of arts degree in English Literature from Grenfell College, where she was awarded the University Medal of Excellence. She graduated in 2003.
            She went on to complete a Master of Arts degree in English Literature at the University of Windsor in 2005, and is currently attending The University of Western Ontario, where she is completing the final semester of her master of library and information science degree.
            Funds are awarded on a competitive basis to applicants seeking funding for library-related projects or assistance in pursuing graduate studies in librarianship, archival studies or teacher librarianship.
