SUBJECT: Eighth annual Career Fair takes place at Memorial University

DATE: September 25, 2007

More than 150 exhibitors representing employers, organizations, government agencies and post-secondary institutions from across the country will be on Memorial University’s St. John’s campus on Monday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the eighth annual Career and Graduate School Fair.
This year’s event, which takes place in the Field House, is the largest it has ever been. Last year just more than 100 exhibitors attended.
The fair is open to current Memorial students and alumni looking to network with potential employers, searching for career direction, or thinking about furthering their education. More than 30 graduate schools will be present this year.
The fair is co-ordinated by Memorial’s Career Development and Experiential Learning (CDEL) office.
“The fair is a great chance for graduating students and recent alumni to make key connections with respect to employment but at the same time, it is also for those students who are looking for direction in their studies and career paths,” said Chris Hounsell, employment development co-ordinator with CDEL.
Admission to this year’s Career and Graduate School Fair is free. Students and alumni are reminded they’ll be required to show their student ID card at the door.
Members of the media are welcome to attend the fair.
