SUBJECT: ACE Memorial advances in the SIFE World Cup

DATE: October 12, 2007

An outstanding opening performance has earned ACE Memorial a slot in the semifinals of the SIFE World Cup.
In their first bout of competition they beat out last year’s World Cup champions from China. Dr. Gary Gorman, dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, is in New York City for the competition. Dr. Gorman praised the team for their efforts. “They competed in what many considered to be the most competitive division,” he explained. “They gave a spirited and emotional performance that drew praise from everyone including many of their competitors.”
In May, ACE Memorial was judged to be the most enterprising campus in Canada, earning them the right to represent Canada and compete against the best of their peers in the World Cup. This is ACE Memorial’s second trip to the prestigious competition. Last year, they made it to the semifinal round where they lost out to the overall winner, China.
The semifinal and final rounds will be held today, with the winners being announced at 6:30 p.m.
Online streaming video of the final round competition and awards ceremony will be available at www.sife.org at 8:30 p.m.
