SUBJECT: Memorial launches Math in the Mall

Budding mathematicians will be strapping on their thinking caps and heading to the Avalon Mall Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006. They’ll be there taking part in a special program organized by MemorialUniversity’s Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Math in the Mall, is an educational event tailor-made to get young children involved in math and to show them that the subject can be fun.
Math in the Mall runs from 10 a.m.–2 p.mand is targeted at children ages 7-12. There will be demonstrations, handouts, games as well as prizes. There is no cost to take part in the program. Organizers will be set up near the bottom of the escalator just below the Food Courtin the Avalon Mall.
