SUBJECT: Best-selling author to bring market research secrets to St. John's

Best-selling author and market research mogul Michael Adams will be in town next week to help Memorial University students and members of the local business community capitalize on innovation.

Mr. Adams, president and co-founder of Environics Research Group, will be the keynote speaker at the 40th annual Business Day conference, organized by the Faculty of Business Administration commerce class of 2005. This year’s conference theme, Capitalizing on Innovation, reflects the growing challenge of managing change in today’s business environment. The conference will be held at the Fairmont Newfoundland on Friday, March 11, from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Mr. Adams is the author of three Canadian best-sellers and the winner of the prestigious 2003/04 Donner Prize – an award given to the author of the best book on Canadian public policy. He has published numerous articles and is a frequent commentator on social and political trends in the print and broadcast media.

Other guest speakers include Meg Barker, director of planning and outcome assessment of the Canadian Foundation for Innovation; Kathy Dunderdale, minister of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development; Trevor Adey, president and co-founder of Consilient Technologies; John O’Dea, partner, and Stacey O’Dea, associate of McInnes Cooper; and Jamie King, president of Verafin Inc. Bill Jackman, president of Jackmanbrand Marketing, will moderate this year’s conference. Business Day is a professional conference that provides business leaders, students and faculty members the opportunity to interact and discuss the important business issues of today. Tickets are $75 each, or $600 for a table of 10. Media outlets interested in attending will be issued one complimentary pass for the day’s events.
