Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, essential staff at the Office of Development are working remotely and we continue to develop a viable work from home alternative for all staff. We continue to gratefully accept your gifts, with all receipts being sent by email. A more detailed operational update from our office can be found here.
Thank you to those who have donated to support student emergency funding at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Our current combined total raised for both funds is approximately $252,000. The funds raised to date have been distributed, assisting with basic, critical needs such as food, rent, utilities and family supports. You are also helping those who have struggled with job or internship loss and unexpected travel and housing costs.
We continue to receive requests for financial support from our students. Many are still unable to travel home, face challenges with remote learning in rural areas, and continue to experience a range of employment and housing challenges.
This is a very challenging time for everyone and we truly appreciate your dedication to our students. If you have not yet contributed, please know that the need is still great and we continue to gratefully accept your donations.
When you support Memorial, you inspire and energize all those who benefit from your gift.
By empowering the ingenuity of our students and researchers, you create incredible opportunities for leadership and discovery - and by extension, build a healthy and sustainable society.
When you give to Memorial University, you make a difference. Don’t hesitate to contact the Office of Development to find out how you can give and learn how your gift can have an impact.
Heartening internal support for COVID-19 student emergency funds.
As the effects of the COVID-19 crisis continue to ripple across the globe, students at Memorial are experiencing many of the same emergencies as other global citizens.
Each year our student callers spend more than 4,000 hours on the phone with our alumni - sharing your successes, finding out how your Memorial experience affected your life, keeping you up to date with what's happening on campus and asking for your support for Memorial's students. We take pride in the connections our callers build with our alumni and friends.
