As part of the Memorial Calling Program team, you will have the opportunity to reach out to Memorial's alumni and friends by phone. We keep the Memorial family connected! We share the latest news about life on our campuses, invite them to upcoming events and reunions, and ask them to support current students with a charitable donation. The funds we raise benefit Memorial students every day.
Duties
Reporting to the Co-ordinator, Annual Giving and Student Team Leaders, the successful applicants will be responsible for calling alumni to ask for charitable donations for student support. Duties include working with a team of callers to achieve the call centre’s daily, weekly, and monthly goals; acting as an ambassador for Memorial University; building rapport with Memorial’s alumni; conveying Memorial’s fundraising goals to alumni and friends; developing techniques to handle objections and improve the structure and style of the calls; entering alumni information, accurately and confidentially, in a relational database; and other related duties as required.
Qualifications
We are looking for dependable students who are currently enrolled with Memorial University. Qualifications include excellent communication and negotiation skills; a strong command of the English language, both written and oral; exceptional attention for detail; and being comfortable talking to people on the phone in a call centre. Experience working in a call centre or in a fundraising setting would be considered an asset.

Schedule
Each team member is required to work a minimum of two shifts per week within the following time frame:
• Sunday 4-7 p.m.
• Monday - Thursday 6-9 p.m.
Schedules are set based on student availability.
Pay
As per the university policy on Student Employment Rates, Student Callers earn $16.35 per hour plus incentives offered by the Office of Development.
