Bushra Khan

I currently pursuing PhD in Oil and Gas Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John’s, Canada, under the supervision of Dr. Faisal Khan and Dr. Brian Veitch. My current research area is to analyze the risk for marine transportation in Arctic waters. I did my M.Phil. in Risk Assessment and M.Sc. in App. Mathematics from University of Karachi, Pakistan. I worked as an Assistant Professor (from Feb 2008 to May 2015), at Bahria University, Karachi, Pakistan. I also worked as a Lecturer (from Aug 2004 to Feb 2008) at Usman Institute of Technology, Hamdard University, Karachi, Pakistan.

Research interests

Risks associated with maritime transportation and offshore oil rigs at Arctic, Bayesian Networks, Cellular Automata, accident modelling and risk amassments, root cause analysis.
