Ming Yang

I earned a B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering (polymer science and engineering) from Shanghai University, China, a master in environmental engineering from Memorial University, Canada, and a Ph.D in oil and gas engineering from Memorial University.

My research and teaching interests mainly focus on safety and environmental engineering and management for offshore operations. Since 2012, I have been involved in projects relevant to the subjects including environmental management for offshore operations, risk-based winterization guidelines for vessel operations in Arctic, dynamic process accident modeling, risk and safety management for process plants. I am eager to develop risk-based solution to tackle engineering problems. And I wish my work would contribute to the development of new knowledge to help people understand the world related to risk. I enjoy innovative research either cooperative or independent, eager to share knowledge and experience, love to serve industries or communities.

I teach both undergraduate and graduate courses related to safety, risk, and environmental engineering in process industries.
