The Emergency Preparedness Fair will feature demonstrations by some of Memorial’s emergency preparedness partners such as the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, and provide information about what individuals can do when an emergency strikes. The fair will educate the campus community about pertinent emergency preparedness initiatives and on the roles different organizations play during emergency response. Organizations on the municipal, provincial and federal levels and well as non-government organizations that are involved in Emergency Response will be participating in the fair.

In addition to the Fair, the Office is holding a Disaster Chef Challenge where members of the University community will prepare recipes for a panel of judges to win the title of Memorial’s Disaster Chef! The Disaster Chef Challenge is taking place at noon in the Courtyard outside the University Centre. The Disaster Chef Challenge winner will take home a 16GB iPad with retina display and an emergency preparedness kit.
