MUN Volunteer Day

The Annual MUN Volunteer Day is one of the most important events for the Student Volunteer Bureau (SVB). This ceremony allows both community and campus organizations to publicly recognize the outstanding efforts of their volunteers. During the ceremony, the SVB presents awards to various members of the university community.

Volunteer Student Group of the Year
This award is presented to a ratified Club or Society, or Resource Centre active at Memorial which has made exceptional contributions to campus and community life through their volunteer efforts during the past year.
Please be aware that this award is based on the collective volunteer efforts of the members of the student group and not the individual students within the organization.
Volunteer Student Group of the Year Nomination Package
Volunteer Residence of the Year
This award is presented to a Residence at Memorial who has made exceptional contributions to campus and community life through their volunteer efforts during the past year.
Please be aware that this award is based on the collective volunteer efforts of students within a Residence and not the individual students themselves.
Volunteer Residence of the Year Nomination Package
Volunteer Staff Member of the Year
This award is presented to a staff member at Memorial who has made exceptional contributions to the University community, locally, provincially, or globally, through their volunteer efforts during the past year.
For the purpose of this award, Staff is defined to include any non-student employee of Memorial who doesn't fall under MUNFA or LUMUN.
Volunteer Staff Member of the Year Nomination Package
Faculty Volunteer of the Year
This award is presented to a faculty member at Memorial who has made exceptional contributions to the community of Memorial, locally, provincially, or globally, through their volunteer efforts during the past year.
For the purpose of this award, Faculty is defined to include individuals that fall under the umbrella of MUNFA or LUMUN.
Faculty Volunteer of the Year Nomination Package
Student Volunteer of the Year
This award is presented to a student at Memorial who has made exceptional contributions to the community of Memorial, locally, provincially, or globally, through their volunteer efforts during the past year.
For the purpose of this award, Student is defined to include both Graduate and Undergraduate students of Memorial.
Note: Individuals who fall into multiple categories can only be nominated for Staff, Faculty, or Student Volunteer of the year.
Student Volunteer of the Year Nomination Package
David Kirkland Student Leadership Award
The David Kirkland Student Leadership Award is presented to a student who has made exceptional contributions to the Memorial community through their leqadership efforts during the past year. Qualities of this student should include integrity, dedication, humility, creativity, open-mindedness, and dependability. To be eligible, students must possess a minimum average of 65%.
For the purpose of this award, Student is defined to include both Graduate and Undergraduate students of Memorial.
David Kirkland Student Leadership Award Nomination Package
Glenn Roy Blundon Award
This institutional award for excellence in disability accommodations is named for a former Memorial student who died in 1984, who is remembered for this leadership and commitment to equality and accessibility issues. The award is presented annually to an individual or group who has exemplified the same qualities as Glenn Blundon. For more information, visit: www.mun.ca/blundon/about/award.php.
