Make Midterm Matter

Make Midterm Matter is an award winning program offered by the Centre for Career Development and Experiential Learning during the fall and winter semesters for currently enrolled MUN students. The program gives students the opportunity to spend a day during their midterm break volunteering for various organizations throughout the city.

  • Break new ground by staring to develop the campus community food garden
  • Gain hands- on volunteer experience that can help you identify potential career aspirations, gain employability skills, and increase your confidence working in the community.
  • Receive a letter of partication your career portfolio


Date: Monday, October 11, 2010 or Tuesday, October 12, 2010

Time: 9:00 am- 5:00 pm

Starting Location: The Landing, UC- 3018

Monday projects:

  • Painting the gym at the MacMorran Community Centre
  • Preparing for the first ever campus community food garden

Tuesday projects:

  • Preparing for the first ever campus community food garden

A community garden provides the opportunity to learn about sustainable practices that students can carry with them for the rest of their lives.

  • We will be breaking ground for this project during MMM and hope to complete such tasks as:
    • removing sods
    • laying and spreading soil
