Arup is a leading global design firm of over 11,000 planners, designers, engineers and consultants in 90 offices, in 38 countries.

Arup is currently carrying out the detailed engineering design for of a self-installing Concrete Gravity Sub-structure (CGS) in the sub-arctic conditions of St John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, for Husky’s White Rose Extension Project. The extension comprises a concrete gravity sub-structure in 118 m of water supporting a well head drilling platform and a number of subsea wells tied back to the wellhead platform. Oil will be exported via the existing SeaRose FPSO.

Kiewit-Kvaerner Contractors (KKC)

Kiewit-Kvaerner Contractors (KKC), a 50/50 Partnership between Peter Kiewit Infrastructure Co and Kvaerner Newfoundland Ltd. has been awarded a contract by ExxonMobil Canada Properties (EMCP) for the Hebron Project gravity based structure (GBS). The contract is for the design, procurement, construction and installation of the Hebron Gravity Based Structure (GBS).

PKI and Kvaerner Newfoundland Ltd. and its affiliate Aker Solutions, have a long history of working together which includes work on the Hibernia GBS Project and White Rose FPSO. With over 125 years’ construction experience, Kiewit is one of North America’s largest and most respected construction and mining organizations.
