On-campus transportation

arts

Beginning in January 2012, MVT Canadian Bus Lines (MVT) will be the new on-campus Para-Transit service provider for Memorial University's St. John's campus, replacing Wheelway Transportation. MTV is also the Para-Transit provider for the City of St. John's; this shared-ride service is called GoBus Accessible Transit or GoBus.

Be sure to visit the On-campus Transportation FAQ for more information on this service.

Who's Eligible?
Students with a physical or cognitive disability (permanent or temporary) and who are unable to move throughout the campus without assistance may be eligible to use GoBus.

Application Process
Access to on-campus transportation (GoBus) is a two-step process.

1. Students must be registered at the Blundon Centre, in accordance with the Policy on Academic Accommodations for Students with Disabilities

2. Students must also complete the GoBus Accessible Transit Application Form available on the City of St. John's Para-Transit Website (if they have not already done this).

New GoBus Riders
1. Register at the Blundon Centre
2. Complete the GoBus Accessible Transit Application Form
3. Notify the Blundon Centre once your GoBus application has been approved by the City. Once we hear from you that you have been approved, we will inform MVT (GoBus) that the University will cover your on-campus transportation costs. We will notify you by email when we have contacted MVT
4. Contact the MVT (GoBus) dispatcher and provide them with your pick-up and drop-off schedule.
Note: MUN students should have their MUN ID cards with them in case they are requested to show them.

Permanent GoBus Riders
If you are considered a permanent Para-Transit user by the GoBus Accessible Transit Office, you will not have to provide any further eligibility information to that Office.

1. Register at the Blundon Centre and request on-campus transportation. We will inform MVT (GoBus) that the University will cover your on-campus transportation costs. We will notify you by email when we have contacted MVT.
2. Contact the MVT (GoBus) dispatcher and provide them with your pick-up and drop-off schedule.
Note: MUN students should have their MUN ID cards with them in case they are requested to show them.

Note: All Para-Transit users who have permanent bookings in the system are encouraged to please contact GoBus to confirm their permanent bookings.
