Marine Institute - Main campus accessability

Location:

155 Ridge Road, St. John's.

Parking:

1 w/c space in the parking lot at east side of building, 1 w/c space next to meter area at west side of building; 1 w/c space in parking lot at west side of building.

Study areas:

Library, help centre, classrooms when not in use.

Outside entrance:

Main entrance accessible via automatic doors: ramp as part of landscape; east entrance at ground level; west entrance has one step; front loading bay accessible via meter area at west side.

Proximity to lounges, refreshments:

Level 1: cafeteria and student lounge.

Skywalk/tunnel access:

The skywalk connects the Engineering Technology Centre of the College of the North Atlantic to Level 3 of the Marine Institute. Both buildings have elevators. The link closes at 6:30 p.m.

Elevators:

Accessible to all levels except basement service area. This area is accessible by outside entrance. The elevator has lowered and brailled buttons.

Washrooms:

Level 1: three accessible.
Level 2: three accessible.
Level 3: two accessible (Brailled signage on the doors).

Telephones:

Pay phones in the main lobby on Level 2, one lowered and one with volume control.

Lecture, classroom areas:

Accessible.

Remarks, hints:

After 6 p.m., only the main entrance is open.
