Dr. Alan Hall

Honorary Research Professor

Expertise

Dr. Hall retired from his full-time position in the Sociology Department
at Memorial University in 2019. He now has an honourary research
professor position with Memorial and is presently involved in research
on the role of worker participation in workplace COVID-19 safety plans.
His most recent publications include a sole authored book “The
Objectivities and Politics of Occupational Risk” by Routledge Press in
2021, a co-authored book, “Closing the Enforcement Gap – Improving
Employment Standards Protections for People in Precarious Jobs” by
University of Toronto Press in 2020, and a co-authored 2020 journal
publication in Economic and Industrial Democracy, “Dealing with the
Hard Cases: Front-Line Constraints and Strategies in Employment
Standards Enforcement”. A co-edited book is also coming out later in
2021, “Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Post-traumatic Stress: Causes,
Consequences and Responses”, also with Routledge Press.
