Procedure for Use of University Marks

Responsible Unit: Division of Marketing and Communications
- General - The Executive Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for approving the use of the university's name and/or marks on all promotional and informational materials, and other items as deemed by the President. The Executive Director of the Division of Marketing and Communications shall maintain a record of such approvals. All approvals shall be based on adherence to the university's Graphic Standards Manual.
- Student Requests - Where the request is made by a student or student group, request for approval must be made to the general manager of the Memorial university of Newfoundland Students' Union (MUNSU) who will forward it to the Dean of Student Affairs and Services for approval. The Dean of the Office of Student Affairs and Services shall maintain a record of such approvals. All approvals shall be based on adherence to the Graphic Standards Manual.
- General - Any individual, group or commercial enterprise wishing to use Memorial university's name and/or marks for commercial purposes must enter into a licensing agreement with the university.
