Resident Teaching Awards

Recognize outstanding teaching by Junior and Senior Residents. Awards are based on feedback from junior learners and highlight the essential role residents play in teaching, mentoring, and supporting learners within the Pediatrics training program.

Research Day Awards

The Resident Research Awards are presented annually at the Pediatrics Resident Research Day, held each winter, and recognize excellence in resident scholarly activity. Junior residents present their research proposals, while senior residents present their completed research projects.

Presentations are evaluated by a panel of judges, with first- and second-place awards granted in each category. The recipient of the Senior Resident Award for completed research is selected to represent the program at the National Resident Research Day during the Annual Canadian Pediatric Society Conference.

These awards highlight the importance of resident-led research and recognize meaningful contributions to advancing pediatric knowledge and improving the care of children and youth.

Recognizes resident(s) who have demonstrated outstanding advocacy on behalf of children and youth. Recipients are nominated and selected based on the impact, leadership, and commitment reflected in their advocacy work.

Resident Quality Improvement Award

Recognizes resident(s) for outstanding contributions to Quality Improvement and/or Patient Safety. Recipients are nominated and selected based on the impact, rigor, and relevance of their quality improvement work.

Best Resident Grand Rounds Award

Awarded annually to the resident who presented the best Pediatric Grand Rounds Presentation. Winner is based on average of global score on evaluation forms.
