Brent Tompkins MD, FRCPC
Dr. Tompkins is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Discipline of Oncology and was nominated by his peers for his ongoing commitment to postgraduate medical education. Dr. Tompkins supervises many residents as they rotate through the Radiation Oncology service. He is a member of the national Radiation Oncology executive examination committee for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and has participated in this work for over 10 years. Dr. Tompkins has shown great dedication to the training, assessment and certification of future Radiation Oncologists in Canada.
Joy McCarthy MD, FRCPC
Dr. McCarthy is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Discipline of Oncology and has contributed significantly to the undergraduate curriculum. As the undergraduate lead, she co-developed programming regarding an introduction to the clinical aspects of oncology for learners which has received positive feedback. She is involved with supervising and assessing clinical clerks as the rotate through the Medical Oncology service and facilitates the academic half day in Breast Oncology. She is also involved in teaching clinical skills. Dr. McCarthy has been nominated by her peers for this award in recognition of her achievements in undergraduate medical education.
